I don’t get out much. It comes with the territory, and I’m not complaining, I’m just saying…I really don’t get out much.
Maybe that’s why I thought this was a fabulous idea…
or maybe it just is a fabulous idea…
A week or so ago, Kerry from HouseTalkN.com asked me to participate in making a dance video along with herself, The Bearded Iris and Angela Shelton. I checked my social calendar (obviously clear) and accepted her challenge invitation. The rules were pretty nonexistent; I basically needed to take the time to shake what my Mama gave me…on film.
Sounds simple enough.
The purpose?
To have fun.
To shake my groove thang.
To bust a move.
To act a fool.
To just take a few minutes and have a good time.
So if you’re looking for a point in this video, there really isn’t one…
It’s just for fun…just like the time I made the laundry, and my winter blues, my bitch in that red sequin dress, this is just something that made me feel good.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy me roller dancing (that’s right, not just dancing, but shakin’ my groove thang on roller skates) in my hot pink unitard to Ke$ha’s We R Who We R.
Enjoy (and you might want to hydrate a little extra for this one)!
Some things just can’t be unseen…and for that, I apologize.

haha Love the outfit and the skates! Too funny.
I think they compliment each other well. I may never wear one without the other again!
You crack me up!! and you rock the hot pick unitard!! Way to go mama!!!
Thanks, Shannon! I figure if I’m gonna do it, I might as well do it right!
Holy Shit! This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. You go girl!
Thank you, thank you! I’ll be here all week! *bows*

I DO wonder what the heck your neighbours must think when they see you coming out the door in your pink unitard an roller skates….then again, who cares?!!! It’s good, clean fun!
If any of them thought I was normal before the hot pink unitard, I’m sure none of them do now! My one neighbor yelled to me when I hit the bottom of the driveway, “Get the disco music!” lol
I love that the kids aren’t embarrassed by you…yet. Miss you guys!
Yet is the keyword, Amy. For now, they think I’m fun…they call this my “super suit.”
That was friggin awesome! The only thing missing was a spreadeagle faceplant into the shrubbery!
Had I gone another few minutes, I think that would have happened too!
The moment you stepped outside, you became my hero. Seriously, I almost fell off my chair I laughed so hard when I saw you open the front door.
Unfortunately there were a lot of other people who were laughing too…and I say unfortunately because it was a “live audience!”
Ahahahahahaha! I was wondering if there was
Well Danced, UniTard Mum!
LOL! I love the outfit! ! You got my vote.
Thanks, Maricris!
Holy crap! You have some sweet moves.
That’s what I say, but my husband disagrees! I think he watched a different video?
Kerry sent me.
Damn, girl! You got skillz! I am so impressed that you were able to stay upright in skates.
Oh and the dancing was awesome too.
Kerry is way braver than me! I don’t think I could have done this in my local hardware store like she did! Thanks for visiting!
Oooh! Where’s THAT video of Kerry in the hardware store? I want to see that.
Total awesomeness! Your kids are lucky to have such a fun mom!
Sharon @ mrs. hines class
Come back and remind them that when they are teenagers!
This is awesome! I play roller derby…and for someone who claims you can’t roller skate…you’re doing a mighty fine job at faking it
Thanks for the giggles!
Hats off to you, Heather! Roller derby looks so fun, but I’m a huge sissy and would probably cry when I got knocked down! I really can’t skate (at least on hills)…when I was a kid I could really roll, now not so much!
The sissy part is hard to overcome. The not knowing how to skate, not so much. I couldn’t skate in 2009 when I helped form a league.
Really funny….you always make me giggle! Love the outfit
Thanks, Clare! I think I may have to get another in a different color!
I just…there are no words. How did you even come to have that outfit within your possession? And where can I get one?
My husband was speechless too. Especially when I told him I paid $40ish for it. I thought it was a deal! I actually have a few other YouTube videos in a Leopard Leotard (circa 1986), and I didn’t want to use the same old thing for a sequel to my “workout” video. I actually googled something like “What could possibly be worse than dancing in a 1980′s leopard leotard?” And this showed up under the shopping results. I love Google. Anyway, when Kerry challenged me, I knew this would be ‘perfect.’
I think you’re just the type of person to help me bring these into fashion! There are a variety of products that will rob you of words here: http://www.nawtyfox.com/casearch.aspx?SearchTerm=unitard
That jumpsuit made my teeth hurt….love the silly song against my own will tho. Need to hit the box wine to recover.
I’m so happy this was my first visit to your site
I’m definitely coming back! pure awesome
I’m just glad I didn’t post MY dance vlog today. Turns out we were wearing the exact same thing. Now THAT would have been embarrassing!
Lady, you have some big balls! I laughed so hard and just about died when I realized you were on skates. That video was awesome! You made my day. I wish I had your figure and could pull off that hot pink body suit.
Just started following you….you are hilarious! Thanks for your general goofiness!
OMG, SO F-ING FUNNY! I don’t know what made me laugh more… the glass of wine, the hot pink body suit, the roller skates or the three kids getting in on the action. Rock on hot stuff!
PS… were the neighbors witness to this little jig?
I am not even sure what to say….but my son and I got a great laugh out of it!
I watched your video clip 5 times in a row!!! Thank you soooo much for posting it….I really needed a good laugh today
This is my first visit to your blog and I just LOVE it….you have really inspired me not to take motherhood so seriously! I hope this video goes “viral” for you!!! Keep up the good work!!!
P.S….by the way, I have never left a comment online before…but I just couldn’t resist to let you know how impressed I was with your sense of humor and your outlook on life as a mom. Your kids are truly blessed to have such an awesome mommy!
Ha, first time I’ve been on your site but I am CRYING I’m laughing so hard. I especially liked the outside parts…LOL. Oh man, I needed that. Thank you.
OH MY BLOG!! You are tooo fabulous. I could never have done that without a MUCH bigger glass of wine (and pink unitard, in fact, mine would have to be so big I think it would qualify as a Duotard) I will be following you on Facebook for sure!
That was good stuff. I loved your comedic straight man: the driveway slope. I wish I could look out of my window and see that.
Ellen
Wow…you have some pretty sweet moves! It’s nice seeing another mom that can get down and be silly (especially around neighbors lol)
Found you through Kerry’s site. I have two questions. What are you doing with not on a hot pink unitard but also a pair of roller skates in 2012?????
HO-LY Shitballs. I am in tears. And seriously amazed that you could do that with a straight face. I am crying! And HOW do you own a pink unitard? And roller skates? I may be in love. And will be sharing this gem on my FB page…
Love your moves!
It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud and this cracked me up! Very, very funny. I loved the side step up the driveway…reminiscent of being on a ski slope trying to make my way back up the slope after accidentally going down before I was fully ready (I’m from Florida).
Found you through Kerry’s link, and I have wine coming out my nose, I’m laughing so hard!! That jumpsuit is THE BEST! I can’t believe you went outside. Makes me take life a lot less seriously. Thanks for the inspiration!
You are on brave ( or slightly wonky ) woman ! LOVE this video. I think I would have fallen down the stairs ! Great Job !
I wish we were neighbors! And again LOVE that the kids are happy to follow you around. I hope they still continue to think you are awesome when they are teens (it could happen). If so, it gives me hope for my future coolness too!
OMG. I can’t stop laughing!I I kept thinking, “I wonder what her neighbors think?” and “I can only imagine the childhood memories Susan’s kids will have.”
The grand finale was the grace and poise you showed making your way back up the driveway on your rollerskates sideways.
AWESOME!
hahah. nice outfit love the video. i made a dance video too,,check it out.
I’m crying i’m laughing so hard. that is AMAZING!! never go anywhere without a glass of wine! and you never spilled a drop!
Loved it, what great spirit, more of us should learn how to have a good time!!!!!!
I’m laughing so much I can hardly breathe. You’re Eddy from Ab Fab, right down to the drink in your hand. (but with a better figure) Brilliant and the kids joined right in too. That song is on my iPod, I’ll never listen to it with out a chuckle now. Thanks
[...] Don’t mention the pink unitard. [...]
Rock on Momma! You one brave girl! Love it! I was totally scared when you headed outside! Glad to see you made it!
Um, that was the most awesome thing on the web. You are who you are! Love it!!
You are so super awesome. LOVE IT!
Can I go as you for Halloween? This was epic.
Holy Cow! You made my morning! That was awesome! I especially liked the side step to get back up the driveway. Fantastic!
I also love that you get to be a super hero with your own costume! Brilliant work, Super Momma!
Oh. my. gosh, that was the most amazing thing I’ve seen in forever. You got guts, and quite frankly, your video was inspiring! LOVED IT!
I love that your kids think you are super cool!! Only a truly awesome mom could get away with that!!
I love it! I found you from Crappy Pictures. But the pink unitard is AWESOME! The perfect touch to your dance adventure. We mamas have to do something to fun or we’d go insane.
This is not a criticism in any way… but if you learnt to skate just a little bit better – there would be no need to put your glass of wine down! How’s that for an awesome idea? Where do I get a pink unitard??
Oh this is too good! I am here from the Crappy Parenting blog, and I haven’t even read a single post yet, but that dance video already has me convinced. You’ve got a new follower!
I love how you hung onto the screen door with your hands on both knobs. Hah! From now on, that’s how I’m leaving my house (without skates)!
[...] first introduction to Susan was this hilarious dancing video. She had me at roller skates. I will forever picture her in my head wearing that pink unitard. [...]
oH MY GOODNESS!!! i LAUGHED SO HARD!!! It’s a really good thing I’m by myself in the office today, because I nearly peed my pants watchin you and HousetalkN’s videos!!! You lady’s rock!!!!
Love the roller skates!! It makes me want to dig out my skates! Now if I looked as good in a pink unitard, I would totally do this!
You. Are. AWESOME! Any Mom that can wear a get-up like that should!
