As I sit here typing in my yoga pants and tee shirt, I know that I’m probably the furthest thing from a fashionista, but I sure have fun with some of these Fall Fashion Trends.
Things don’t always work out in real life quite the same as when I first envision them in my mind, but I’m nothing if not
someone who never learns her lesson persistent.
So this year I’m going to keep pushing myself to dress outside of the box, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll find myself at the forefront of fashion.
For the Fall Fashion Part I, I’m going to take two of the hottest trends from the runway and translate them into real life, everyday style.
Because I’m bold, I’m also looking to start some new trends of my own, so you’ll see two of those as well.
Over the thigh boots – The one consolation of trading in sandals each year is that I’m exchanging them for boots. This year designers have taken boots up a notch, and from runways to performers, ladies are already sporting over the thigh boots. It must take a little time for some of these styles to trickle down to suburbia, however, because around these parts, these rubber fishing waders were as close as I could find.
Hats – People are always (never) saying that I remind them of Victoria Beckham. I couldn’t really see it before, but when we were both recently photographed in our on trend cloche hats, I thought we could be twins! These are just one of the cool styles you’ll be seeing this season.
SETTING TRENDS :
Pajama Jeans – If you want the back story on these fabulous faux denim pants, check out my recent post on how I give up every day (and think you should too). Based on a number of your comments, I think I have a real chance to bring a trend to life. These comfy bottoms have been around a few years, but just because of their As Seen on TV start, people aren’t willing to give them a chance. Well, I for one, am ready to say denim be damned! I’m wearing my pajama jeans…
Do Dickies. Do. – Now I can’t take credit for this sweet little number, but I can jump on the bandwagon (where there’s sure to be lots of booze too) with one of my favorites, Kerry from HouseTalkN. Kerry and friends have brought the dickie back, and there’s sure to be a dickie out there that’s right for you. Why, these dickies come in all shapes and sizes and different colors too! Don’t be afraid to do the dickie this Fall. As you can see from my photo, I like my dickies fancy…you know, cause I’m so classy.
Keep an eye out for Fall Fashion Trends 2013 – Part II featuring Capes! Lots-o-leather! And even more hats!
Until then, take a page out of this lady’s book and get an outfit that makes you want to do this:
And if anyone is looking for holiday gift ideas, I’d totally wear a pantsuit.
What do you think? Am I on trend or off the map? What’s you’re favorite fall wear? Leave me a comment and let me know! I’d love to hear from you!
