I just finished my bad Mother’s Day gift list, but I’m not worrying much about what I’ll be receiving on Sunday.
Mainly because I already ordered my own gifts a couple weeks ago. Nothing says, “We love you Mom!” like letting me buy a couple pairs of new pants.
Anything else I receive this Sunday, like cards or homemade items, will be sweet extras to treasure from the kids…and my husband too. That man can make a mean macaroni necklace.
Speaking of cards and macaroni, check out a funny collaboration from What’s Up Moms with a bunch of my favorite bloggers which includes me, a macaroni card and what I really want for Mother’s Day (take notes, family):
Pretty funny, right?
Did you catch that lovely card in the video that my 4yr old made me? She really captures her subjects in a way they never ever forget (even if they try really, really hard), like this one she gave me to commemorate “Back to School” this past Fall.
I was so excited to see the kids return to school; the kid really nailed it.
Last year for Mother’s Day my card came early, but instead of traditional paper, which only fades over time, she went for something more permanent and in a prominent area so more people could enjoy it:
This masterpiece was done on the family room wall, but I didn’t mind…especially since I’m depicted with such a great rack.
This year my gift came early again, and for the second year in a row, it was not a traditional paper card.
In addition to it being displayed on the wall, where all proper art belongs, this year’s gift was a membership to a very, very exclusive club.
Apparently, my daughter’s club is even more exclusive that it appears. It turns out the last two names on the list were added by her brothers, which made her really mad, since this list is on her bedroom wall.
Nonetheless, this membership is the perfect Mother’s Day gift for me…even if I’m listed after PopPop, Baxter (the dog), MomMom, and my husband Bab (aka Dad).
I hope you all get something you’ll treasure this Mother’s Day too…and nothing from my 10 (More) Bad Mother’s Day Gift List!
