Ingredient List – Your Choice of Your Kid’s Leftovers
Start by forgetting to defrost chicken in the morning for that evening’s meal. About 4:58pm, preheat oven to 425 degrees. Try to finish homework with one or more children. Answer phone multiple phone calls from your children’s friends, solicitors, and husband. Haphazardly toss some tater-tots and chicken nuggets on a cookie sheet, bake according to directions or until smoke detector goes off. Toss bag of frozen corn into microwave, forget to cut slit in center of bag, cook 3 minutes until bag explodes in microwave. Curse under your breath as the children cheer for “Popcorn!” Remove remaining corn (that is still in the bag), and divide among kids. Serve nuggets & tots to kids with copious amounts of ketchup. Allow a couple remaining tots and nuggets to cool to room temperature and help yourself. You can also wait until the kids have left the table and scrounge for food they’ve left on plates.
Apathy is a dish best served lukewarm while eating over a kitchen sink.
