Hi, I’m Susan, and I used to be a successful young professional in the corporate sector who had friends and a social life. One night, I went to bed a fit and fabulous 25 year old bride, and I woke up one day a frizzy and frazzled 33 year old stay at home mother of three. Although I wouldn’t trade it for the world, I learned pretty early on that motherhood is not all Hallmark moments. At times it’s messy, smelly, and even embarrassing.

As with anything in life though, it’s all about perspective. I always try to look at the lighter side of being an aging, non-exercising, sleep-deprived, stay at home mom. I openly admit that I eat carbs and drink wine, and I won a year’s supply of pork in 2011 for a poem I wrote about my love of bacon (true story). I love vintage style clothing, I’m slightly obsessed with polka dots, and I’d wear a dress every day if I could. I wish I was as persistent as my gray hairs, but due to a lack of sleep since 2005, I tend to give in pretty easily. Just one more episode of anything Disney and I’ll have lost the capacity to have an adult conversation; oh, and I can believe it’s not butter.
