I’ve loved Barbie for as long as I could remember.  I had dolls that belonged to my mother when she was a girl, and I had a whole collection of my own.  Thinking back to some of my favorite toys, Barbie (and her dream house, corvette, and all her accessories) were at the top of the list.  So when I was given this wonderful coffee table book, Barbie: A Rare Beauty, I was so excited.  It has most, if not all, of the history of barbie, is filled with fabulous glossy full color pictures of all the various dolls, accessories and clothing as well as the Pony Tail Barbie which earned author Sandi Holder $25,000 at auction!  That sale secured Holder a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for highest sale price of a Barbie Doll.  Holder is no novice doll collector either, she is the owner of Doll Attic in California.
