Amy Waltz Designs-Mindful Jewelry

Amy Waltz Designs’ (AWD) custom creates jewelry which she says is “inspired by the essential minerals, metals and natural gemstones found within our Earth, which throughout time have been found to possess properties that can heighten positive energy, promote emotional and physical healing and enhance spirituality.” AWD uses a 7 step eco- friendly aging process on each piece which makes them unique and gives them their own coloring, depth and individuality.

Amy explains, “It may sound strange or impossible, but my vision is simple. Each piece not only carries with it a message but a sweet sound intended to remind and awaken all that is good. If this goodness vibrates from your heart, perhaps this tiny ripple will swell and even if just one person is more mindful, the world is better. So I’m kind of using jewelry as a meditational reminder. The sounds “twinkle” (twinkle is a semi made-up word to describe the sound they make — it’s subtler and sweeter than a ring) as if to remind the recipient to breathe a little deeper, let go a little more, extend your circle a little wider, and allow peace, forgiveness and compassion to flow in and out, in and out.”

I was delighted to be given the chance to review such thoughtful jewelry which is more like wearing artwork! Amy allowed me to choose a necklace, and she created the piece pictured above (the Three Tag Tiny) adorned with the names of each of my children as well as the Ruby birthstone that I share with all three of them. In addition to my piece, as all the others she creates, being unique with its color, depth, and finish, Amy’s packaging of my necklace reflected the great care and thought that goes into her pieces. It was delicately wrapped and I felt like I was opening a designer gift…and actually I was. I was touched that she had included a hand written note taking about the meaning behind the Ruby birthstone, the significance of sharing it with my children, and what the piece should remind me to achieve each day. Amy’s presentation alone shows that she makes more than just jewelry, she’s making art. I’ve received so many comments and compliments on the necklace each time I’ve worn it from friends and strangers alike.
