Late last year, miniature potbelly pigs called teacup pigs became the new must-have pet. There are now hundreds of websites dedicated to these teacup pigs thanks to celebrity owners such as Jessica Simpson, Carrie Underwood, David and Victoria Beckham, Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint, and Peter Facinelli from Twilight fame. The Teacup Piggies toys are six-inch miniature versions of real teacup pigs and appeal to girls ages 3 to 10 years-old. They speak over 20 phrases and come with their own teacup, accessories, and birth certificate. Playsets like the limo playset and additional wardrobes are sold separately. Teacup Piggies can be found at many major retailers including Toys R US, Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens, and Radio shack. They retail for around 12.99 and have been mentioned as one of this year’s must have toys…maybe even the next Zhu-zhu pet?

OMG! Totally awesome! I collected pigs as a kid, ok I admit teen. And I have always wanted a pet one. I once got a mechanical one as a gift. It was so ghetto and my little sister got mad and wrecked it. This would so be a therapy item for me. A must have really!
