If you had asked me before to describe GORE-TEX, I would have most likely associated them with rugged outdoor wear. My husband and I both have own GORE-TEX clothing for that we used for sports/outdoors. Not only have these items lasted for years, but their technology that provides warmth and protection from the elements has remained just as good as it was the day we first bought our items.

The Rough Rack

The Ultimate Tool and Ski Rack

Not all garage storage is created equal, and I can say this with great confidence now that I own a Rough Rack. This Rough Rack was an early Christmas gift for my husband, and secretly, a gift for me as well. We had our home built in November of 2006, and since moving in we have had two more kids, and my husband has found himself kicked out of his upstairs home office and moved to the basement. The basement is now 75% finished and we have a full bath/laundry, play room, home office and Man Cave. My garage has now become the storage area. I haven’t parked a car inside of it for over a year. Until last weekend, that is.

My husband installed two Rough Racks, the 4×4 Large Utility Rack and the Ski/Snowboard Racks, last weekend. There was minimal cursing involved, so if you have a less-than-handy-man, fret not! Installation was very clear and simple. We have some less sturdy racks already that have failed when it came to hanging the stuff I really want up and out of the way like bikes and strollers, so we left them to the plastic snow shovels and gave the Rough Rack a true test with a double stroller, a regular stroller, and my oldest son’s bike. Guess what? No problem for the Rough Rack! The Ski/Snowboard rack was just as sturdy and came with velcro straps are so you can put two snowboards bottom to bottom and then velcro the lower half of the boards together so they hang properly. Since I have not mastered snow boarding and do not own boards (I’m lame, I know, but it’s totally on my ‘Bucket List’) I am using the rack for (another) umbrella stroller, reusable shopping bags, and another bag with my gardening stuff in it.
