Children’s Books Giveaway

Two of my new favorite children’s books, both a part of our Holiday Shopping Guide, will be given away this week to one lucky winner!

First, do you know happens when you take the weirdly wonderful writings of internationally known best selling author Lemony Snicket and bring the story to life with world renowned artist Maira Kalman? You get “13 Words,” a book where Snicket takes 13 seemingly random words and spins a tale that takes the reader through a wild and wonderful day. Some words my young reader knew like Bird, who is our central character, Dog, Hat, Cake and Baby, and others he learned as we read like Haberdashery, Panache, Despondent, and Mezzo-Soprano. The story itself is silly, weird and I think fantastic, and my kids enjoyed it too. The 40 pages of brightly colored phenomenal illustrations art work was wonderful to explore as well. Our second giveaway book, National Geographic Children’s Book, The Classic Treasury of Childhood Wonders, is absolutely remarkable. The book is authored by Susan H. Magsamen who is an award-winning writer and advisor on family and children issues with a special interest in creativity and learning. Honestly, this is one of the most thoughtful books I’ve come across in some time, and I cannot wait to continue to read, share, and explore it with my children!
