Better the Day After –Like Pizza!
One of my favorite parts of the Holiday season is the food! There’s always an abundance of main courses, dips, appetizers, side dishes, casseroles, desserts, snacks and more…but I digress (before I have to take a break and go indulge). Fresh Takes on Family Time has another great idea this month, just in time for those Thanksgiving leftovers.
Around here, in Delaware, we have a locally famous and delicious sandwich from a local shop, called “the bobbie” which, in a matter of speaking, is Thanksgiving on a roll.
I’ll probably stick with the tradition of making our own “bobbies” at home the day after Thanksgiving, but with a usual abundance of food, we’ll also happily try out the Day After Pizza Fresh Takes suggests. They say:
“Whether you want a new take on Thanksgiving leftovers or a way to combine every one of those flavors into one bite, leftovers pizza is the way to go. Here’s the basic rule of pizza: There are no rules; the flavors just have to work together. The cookbook-bound chef might have a problem with this non-rule, but look at it this way: We already know that turkey and cranberry and potatoes and pumpkin agree on the American palate. That’s half the battle. Now we’re just taking our favorite fall holiday foods and tossing them onto some bread. Brilliant!”
