Conundrum Wine

What’s a conundrum? A conundrum is a confusing, perplexing or awkward predicament.  I found that my personal conundrum was when was I going to sit down and enjoy a glass? Obviously, I was going to have to wait until my kids were in bed because like I said, I wanted to enjoy the wine. I packed my Conundrum Wine and took it with us on vacation, hoping to enjoy at least a glass while we were away.

After a long and exhausting day on the beach,  filled with sandy diapers, a bucket of collected sea snails (gross) and me getting a stripe of sunburn across my back, we decided to take the easy way out and ordered takeout from a local seafood restaurant.  When my grilled tuna with pineapple salsa arrived, I decided to partner it with a glass of Conundrum White Wine.

As I poured my glass, I already knew this was going to be a perfect compliment to my dinner.  The wine is very aromatic, and has a sweet smell, almost floral scent.  When I took my first sips I was surprised at how flavorful it was; I could taste not only the grapes but also a pear as well as a citrus blend and even detected a hint of vanilla.  With such a complex flavor, I was also surprised at how smooth it was as well.  It was a wonderful compliment to my grilled tuna dinner and the pineapple salsa that accompanied it seemed to help me identify other flavors in the wine as well.  There were hints of melon as well in this creamy, smooth, some what complicated, yet not overly sweetened glass of wine.

As soon as the kids were settled in bed, I poured my second glass, this time by itself, not accompanied by food, and it was just as smooth and delicious.  Full of flavor, sweet but not overly so, and just what I needed after a long (very long) day.  I can say for sure that I do not have nearly as many opportunities to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine like I used to, but I can say with 100% certainly that I will have a bottle (or two) of Conundrum on hand, chilling in the fridge, for whenever those rare and fleeting opportunities present themselves.  I also enjoy cooking with wine and I cannot wait to see what kind of flavors this will add to mahi, tuna, and even chicken.

Check out the Conundrum website (http://www.conundrumwine.com/) to find local retailers and restaurants that carry this California white wine wonder.  While you’re there you can also add your own “conundrums” and answer others that people have posted. Become a fan on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Conundrum-Winery/78750729159?v=wall), or follow them on Twitter (http://twitter.com/ConundrumWinery), but whatever you do run (don’t walk) to your nearest retailer and try a bottle (or two)!  Although, I think all adults of legal age will enjoy this wine, I think it would also make a wonderful gift for a busy wife or mother…think about it ladies, a warm bath, scented candles, peace and quiet and a glass of Conundrum Wine. Sounds like a slice of heaven, doesn’t it?  Your biggest conundrum will be when to fit time for your next glass…
