Chichanella Bella ‘Lemon Drop’

Bathing Suit

After my review on the Ester Williams Bathing Suit, a reader was kind enough to refer me to the Chichanella Bella website to check out vintage inspired swimwear for little girls. As you know, I have a real affection for the styles of decades past, but I have yet to find a website like this that caters to little girls.  I found myself marveling at all the beautiful bathing suits adorned with ruffles, flowers, bows and the like. The style and adorable patterns of the suits had a flavor of yesteryear, although they are all still stylish enough to wear today. I immediately knew I had to have one of these vintage inspired bathing suits for my daughter, the question was which one to purchase?

I clicked on every bathing suit, and found myself tickled not only by the adorable details on these suits, but also the names.  I was immediately drawn to the Sandy Bottom suit and the black and white polka dots, but quickly made a conscious decision not to dress my daughter in polka dots just because I am addicted to them myself!  The Lifeguard Lulu and Sailor Sadie were then out too, although it took some real willpower on my part not to buy them both anyway.  I momentarily considered making an exception due to the bright colors and frilly ruffles, but quickly found a reason to go without the polka dots…this time anyway.  My next two choices were between the Pink Taffy and the Lemon Drop.  After a few moments I chose the Lemon Drop if only to go with something different from pink for a change.

Once my packaged arrived, I knew I made the right choice.  The Lemon Drop’s sunshine yellow looked absolutely incredible.  The suit, which has accents of green, is made to look like a two piece, however it is a one piece suit.  The ruffled straps come to a “V” in the front and are met with Sour Apple Green Petals.  The same color graces the front of the bloomer style pants in the form of tiny flower petals.  As if the suit were not cute enough, the matching bonnet style hat with its own flower petal and ruffles, makes this outfit irresistible.  The fabric itself is of obvious high quality; it is both soft and stretchy with an almost weighted feel.  My daughter has only worn this twice but I can tell it will last well beyond her time in the suit.  Hand washing and line drying this suit as indicated on the tag will undoubtedly keep the beauty for years to come.  If only I had another daughter to pass it down to!

Overall, I cannot say enough about the attention to detail, quality, craftsmanship, and obvious love for the time in which this suit was modeled after; it’s like putting my daughter in a piece of art!   If you plan on going out to your community pool or local beach as I did while your daughter is in this timeless beauty, be ready for a line of strangers coming up and asking about the piece.  Even those who did not come up to our blanket stared and smiled as they walked passed.

After my experience with the Lemon Drop, I couldn’t resist, and ended up getting the same suit we used in our recent Giveaway, the Candy Pink Confection.  I cannot say enough about this suit either!  So visit the Chichanella Bella website, and I promise you won’t be disappointed!  Email (inquiries@chichanellabella.com ) or call (610.836.1180) Chichanella Bella , and let her know you are a Domestic Diva fan and you’ll get Free Shipping and 10% off…how can you say no? I couldn’t!!
