Daddy-O’s ‘Stop Staring Chelsea Polka Dot Doll Dress,’ The 2010 Domestic Diva Uniform

If you are like me, you love all things vintage. Unfortunately, I do not live in an area where there are many shops to cater to the vintage lover (especially clothing) , so I was left to try to find a vintage clothing store online. Thankfully, I did not have to look long before I found Daddy-O’s . They not only have a huge selection of women’s clothing, but also have an enormous selection of 1950′s inspired clothing for men and children.

I was there at Daddy-O’s in search of something specific- a Domestic Diva Uniform. I wanted to incorporate my own pictures into the new website which has an obvious vintage/retro feel, and wanted to enhance that even more with a dress that brings back the essence of the 1950′s housewife. As I paged through the dresses, my only issue was making a selection. Some of my favorites were the Stop Staring Cheesecake Dress, the Stop Staring Black and White Polka Dot Boat Neck Swing Dress, and the Stop Staring Red Blondie Dress. Although all of these dresses are retro fabulous and certainly embody all things 50′s, I needed the dress that made you immediately think, “Domestic Diva.” So after an enjoying search, with several bookmarks for my next shopping trip along the way, I finally chose my Domestic Diva uniform, the Stop Staring Chelsea Polka Dot Doll Dress.

The Stop Staring Chelsea Polka Dot Doll Dress is described as being sweet and sexy all at once, and that’s immediately how I felt when I put this little number on! The stretch fabric felt great and enhanced the fitted bodice while the swing skirt flowed nicely and hid all the problem areas from my belly button to my thighs with style! The dress is short sleeved with a slight gathering of the fabric the shoulders which gives a slight puffiness and feminine feel to the sleeves. The dress also zippers in the back, has a vintage peter pan collar, and there is a white trim and faux white buttons down the front of the bust. The name gives it away, but as much as I love it, it’s worth stating the obvious; the dress is black and covered in white polka dots. It is available at Daddy-O’s in sizes Small-3X.

After putting on my dress, I grabbed some fabulous black pumps and went and dusted my living room. Then I went and cooked my family dinner. Although I cannot picture scrubbing a floor in this dress (it’s way to fabulous) or wearing it just around the house for cleaning and cooking, I did have a strange feeling come over me. If only for a few hours, I cooked, I cleaned, and I looked damn good doing it!

So this is it, Divas! Special thanks to Daddy-O’s for providing The Domestic Diva Uniform for 2010! Visit Daddy-O’s website (http://www.daddyos.com/) and get yourself one too! While you’re there you can even buy yourself a pair of matching pumps, a purse, or other coordinating vintage accessories. You deserve it!
