Dorothy Apron from Carolyn’s Kitchen, a Domestic Diva ‘Must Have’

I recently had the privilege of doing a Giveaway with Carolyn’s Kitchen (www.carolynskitchenonline), and owner Carolyn West very generously provided a Daisy Apron for one of my lucky readers. Since I am not eligible to win my own giveaways (obviously), I decided to get one as well. I found myself on Carolyn’s website for nearly an hour trying to pick an apron. These aprons are sweet and sexy with a vintage feel, but don’t let the word “vintage” fool you. These fabulous aprons are not something you’d find in your Grandma’s kitchen. Carolyn’s aprons have been described as aprons that “enhance the merriment of playing whimsical dress-up combined with the indulgent delights of naughty pin-ups.”

I wanted something different from the giveaway daisy apron, just to be able to showcase some of the other patterns and styles available. I also wanted to do something different from my “normal” pattern preference of black and white polka dots, but was having a hard time choosing between the Cheetah Lolita Red(love the name by the way) and the Rock ‘n Roll Hot Pink Aprons. So I chose instead the Dorothy Apron in Red which was a great way to incorporate my obsession with black and white but also add some color with the red and white polka dots. This fabulous apron has black and white vertical stripes on the bottom half of the apron, giving a more slimming feel, while the top has black and white horizontal stripes accentuating just the right spot in just the right way. Around the apron’s waist is a red with white polka dot pattern that comes to a tie in the back. The top straps, also the red with white polka dots, can be tied and adjusted behind the neck. A fabulous red and white polka dot pocket lined with white lace adorns the bottom and a sweet bow completes the top. This, and all Carolyn’s aprons, are made in the USA, are machine washable, and are easily ironed. Carolyn is also, as of the time of this review, offering free shipping on all aprons.

Carolyn’s Dorothy Red Apron actually makes me want to throw a party, just so I can show off my new Domestic Diva attire. Hell, I might make things easier on myself, and have the party catered. Even if I just do the “serving,” my guests, seeing me in my Dorothy Apron, would most likely be none the wiser. So whether you are a true domestic diva, or you just want people to think you are, buy a va-va-vintage apron from Carolyn’s Kitchen and get noticed! For a real head-turner, add the matching garter (yes, husbands I said garters!) and gloves. It’s a must have for every “domestic diva!”
