Have you seen your friends posting the results for their most used words in 2015? According to the app maker, vonvon, over 1.7 million people have allowed the app to analyze their posts to determine which words were used most this year.
After participating myself, I was trying to take 20 seconds to read the results when I found myself in the middle of a Minecraft meltdown, which of course began with someone yelling, “I’m telling!” and someone else yelling, “No, I’m telling first!”
It struck me in that moment that I wouldn’t need an app to tell me which words my kids used most, and so I made my own Most Used Words Chart.
I bet that many kids would have overlapping vocabularies, depending on their age, so you tell me how this compares to some of your kids. This chart reflects the words I hear the most from two boys ages 8 & 10 and their 6 year old sister:
And before any Dads get mad, yes, the MOM in this image is slightly larger than the DAD, but that’s because I work from home and am here to handle the bulk of the requests. It might be different in your house, this is just what I’m hearing (all.day.long.).
So how do you think I did? What words did I miss? Any of your kids favorites not here? Leave me a comment and let me know! I love hearing from you!
