No Domestic Diva

Thank you, Miley Cyrus, now I can break into advertising!

in Uncategorized on 29/08/13

In college I studied psychology, but I’ve actually always had an interest in marketing and advertising.

Sometimes I like to daydream that a big company will one day come across my humble site here and think “Wow! Look at the branding that she’s done; we should offer her a fancy job doing something fun and creative here at our large and successful firm!”

Just kidding – most of my daydreams involve bacon as a health food, a wine spigot in my kitchen sink, and/or Alexander Skarsgård.

But sometimes I can’t help create slogans or ads in my mind for products that I see and use in my daily domestic life – remember my Slogan Parodies for Moms? Perhaps it’s not so much a hobby of mine but rather it’s a way for my brain not to shrivel up and die from over exposure to Nick Jr. & Disney Channel.

Whatever the reason, this morning I think I really nailed it with a new ad. I’m working on a pitch right now for this major brand, and I’m feeling really confident that they’re going to absolutely love it. And it’s all thanks to Miley Cyrus.

Or more specifically, Miley Cyrus and her foam finger from the VMA’s:

Like most of you, my social media feeds have been riddled with images of Miley Cyrus this week after her “performance” at the VMA’s. I’m happy to say that those images, forever scorched into my brain, might actually have a positive outcome.

You see, I came across this foam finger – which I think more people have laying around the house than you might think – and I wondered do any of us really know where that foam finger has been before we acquired it?

*Shudder*

I immediately thought to myself, “Put that down and go wash your hands, you don’t know where that’s been!”

After all foam fingers are fingers that need washing too…

Mylie Cryrus Foam Finger Purell

How can Purell say no?

I don’t normally pat my own back, but I think this is genius.

I even made a PSA which I plan on sending them as well:

Do you think Purell will go for it? Would my ad campaign make you more likely to buy a bottle (or three)? Are you as sick of hearing about Miley Cyrus as I am? (p.s. I don’t care if you love Miley or hate her, I’m just plain sick of hearing about it) Leave me a comment and let me know! I’d love to hear from you!

This is too funny! How could Purell NOT grab up this advertising inspiration in a second?! And as far as Miley… is she gone from media yet? I just want to hide out until her ridiculous tongue is off my feeds.

I can’t even tell you how happy this made me. I have two foam fingers laying around my house, begging me to mock Miley with them, but I’m so incredibly lazy, I’ve only gotten to the contemplation phase of the process. THANK YOU for taking things to the next level and giving me one hell of a giggle, too!!
