When Baby Magic® said they were sending me their new scent, Soft Cotton Blooms, in a Hair & Body Wash and also Baby Lotion, I was honestly a little skeptical. As a parent, I go to what I know works, and I typically operate under the adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Personally, I love the original scent, and it’s the only soap that I use on my kids. The smell still reminds me of when they were babies and since then it’s been trusted by me to clean them without being harsh or causing irritation it’s what I buy time and time again.

When the new scent arrived, I was relieved at the sweet smell. My Kindergartner saw the new bottles on the side of the tub at bath time and said, “Oh! It’s for boys!” I told him, it was just the bottle that was blue, and the new scent was for anyone. He took a ridiculously long sniff, and gave an approving nod that I promised to pass on to the company – New Scent! Kindergartner Approved!

Although it’s just as gentle as the original, it also does the trick and passed my Kindergartner Cleaning test as well. Anyone who has or has known a five year old boy can attest to the fact that they are gross play hard! My son often comes home from a full day of school covered in mystery dirt. Sometimes I like to play a game with myself to see if I can guess the stains covering his clothes and body. My son thinks I’m psychic because I’m able to guess, “Did you use glue and paint today?” or “I bet you were digging in the dirt on recess today!” or even “Did you have something with ketchup at lunch?” The great news with the new Baby Magic Cotton Blooms soap was that it let me gently chisel away a day of Kindergarten and it really did smell great.

The smell is mild, sweet lily and jasmine, and it’s enriched with vitamins and aloe which leaves hair and skin feeling soft and smooth. Just like the original it’s dermatologist tested, tear free, hypoallergenic and paraben free as well. “I like this new stuff better because it smells good and mostly because there are more bubbles,” my son noted during bath time. I agreed about the scent, but said that it there were the same amount of bubbles as usual (we squirt some soap right under the running faucet). He politely disagreed and requested that this be his soap from now on.

The Baby Magic® Soft Cotton Blooms Gentle Baby Lotion also has the same mild scent as the Body & Hair Wash, and just like the original scent, this lotion is also dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, paraben free, quick absorbing, and provides all day moisture for your child’s skin. We always apply after bath time, and it’s the same great formula that works to soften skin, but is never greasy. I even use it myself from time to time!
