“Sid the Science Kid: The Movie” follows Sid and his friend Gabriela through their adventure in The Super Ultimate Science Museum. After winning a science fair contest, Sid and Gabriela are named “Junior Investigators” and are awarded with a special inside look at the new museum before it opens to the public. Once there, they meet quirky scientist Dr. Bonabodon (voiced by guest star Christopher Lloyd), who has designed robot tour guides, including Bobbybot, his greatest creation. Sid and Gabriela also meet Yangyang and Niuniu, the “Future Scientist” contest winners from China, and the four pals observe giant honey bees, investigate robots, and even encounter a giant singing Tyrannosaurus Rex. But when their robot guide short-circuits, Sid, Gabriela, Yangyang, and Niuniu must work together and use science to try to save the day. Together, they learn that you can be a scientist at any age – and that thinking like a kid is sometimes the best way to solve a problem!
Filled with humor and music, along with intriguing facts, the DVD has a running time of 75 minutes and is priced at $12.99 SRP (Grab it right now on Amazon for less than $10)! The DVD was released on April 2, 2013 by NCircle Entertainment and is a production of The Jim Henson Company.
All three of my kids, ages 3, 5 and 7, enjoyed this DVD – even the oldest who initially said that this show “was for little kids.” Just like the popular PBS Show, Sid and friends will capture your child’s attention and imagination, and you’ll watch them learn (while being entertained) without even realizing it!
