Three years ago this July, I started blogging as The Divine Secrets of a Domestic Diva. I also created my Facebook and Twitter pages, and I can remember in the first few weeks and months, begging, pleading and bribing my friends and family to “like” my pages. I probably still owe some of them beers because of their “liking” and subsequent sharing, my page started to grow…and grow…and grow until almost three years later, we’re now almost 67,000 Facebook followers strong.
At the time, I started blogging to keep my brain cells from dying off as a result of over-exposure to The Wonder Pets and The Wiggles. I then had a five year old, a three year old and a one year old, and my capacity to have an adult conversation was faltering steadily when one day I caught myself saying to a friend, “Did you see The Backyardigans today? I can’t stop singing that song!” It was then I knew I needed to either start getting out more, which given my brood was next to impossible, or I needed to find a way to connect with other like-minded adults – STAT.
The fact that anyone, other than myself, is entertained by my stories, pictures, and interpretation of life is still surprising. Your support has helped me do some amazing things here in the last three years like appearing on the Dr. Oz Show (and it wasn’t even an intervention!), being featured in Huffington Post Parents, Redbook.com, LA Times, and more. Not to mention that best-selling book I contributed to, I Just Want to Pee Alone

No, seriously, thank you. Know that I appreciate every single person that “likes” me. I shared the Worst Cruise Director! I showed my kids the Harlem Shake Video and they totally loved it! I too have been at a loss especially with all this rain we have been having. Hoping that the weather clears soon so we can hit the beach…I am quite pale!

Good idea. I’ve talked about renting out my kids to others who think they’ve baby-proofed. Right, you really thought it’d be okay to have something on that shelf my three year old can /almost/ touch. Jokes on you, she can jump! HA! Oh any that outlet you forgot to cover because it was behind an end table, there’s a lego stuck in it now, you’re welcome, that will be $500.
