Sweet Birdie Boutique

Sweet Birdie Boutique is an absolute treasure of a shop which specializes in handmade clothing and accessories for young children. You’ll find a variety of items for both boys and girls that come in an array of stylish patterns and sizes. Some of their items change seasonally, so you’ll find a variety of clothing and accessories like sun suits and dresses for girls, tee shirts and bow ties for boys, reversible super hero capes for both, and more (like these adorable owl stuffies!)

Owners Abby and Faith’s talent, craftsmanship, attention to detail and passion are seen in all of their high quality fabrics and the ‘little extras’ that you’ll find on items throughout the shop. The prices are really affordable too, and unlike many highly manufactured lines, with items from Sweet Birdie Boutique, you can be sure you’re getting an item that will last and last. As rough as my kids can be on apparel, I’m certain that we’ll be able to pass the Sweet Birdie items we received on for other kids to enjoy. First up is this adorable dress for my daughter that came with a matching head band. Normally, she hates wearing stuff in her hair (as you can tell by how wild it still looks), but she loved this coordinating piece! She and I also both loved the polka dot ruffle that adorns the front of this dress, and although the fabric is thick, it’s still lightweight and along with the natural fit of the dress, it will make the summer days even cooler. The dress has been washed and worn multiple times (close to a dozen), and it still has retained its color and shape perfectly and shows absolutely no sign of wear. Based on how well it’s holding up to my toddler, I know it will be in hand-me-down condition when she is too big to enjoy it any longer.

Next up is the reversible capes for boys (be sure to check out their reversible capes for girls too). As soon as these awesome playtime accessories came out of the bag, they immediately put them on and began to rescue whatever they could (bugs, worms, and a very uninterested little sister). One side of the cape features Superman while the opposite side allows the wearer to transform into Batman! These capes are also made of quality material that also retained size and shape after washing (which really didn’t need it, but I did throw them in for review purposes). In the past, I’ve not purchased capes because I was afraid they could be a choking hazard, and although I would of course suggest adult supervision, these capes are safely fastened with enough Velcro to hold it in place while the child runs around, but would easily come off if tangled or caught on something. Overall, just a fabulous item for your little super hero! My boys play with these daily!

Up, up and away!

Last and certainly not least is one of my daughter’s favorites- the apron for girls. The multicolored cupcake apron is as sweet as it looks! My daughter feels like an official kitchen helper now that she has an apron of her own. As with all the other items we received, this is also a quality material that also retains size and shape through the washer and dryer. This has seen it’s fair share of washing too because my daughter wears it in lieu of a bib most meals, and absolutely loves the pocket on the front which she uses to carry wooden spoons, spatulas, crayons and Goldfish Crackers! The size of the apron and the length of the strings that tie at the neck and waist also ensure she’ll be enjoying this for a long time to come!
