As many of you know, I’ve been having a blast working with Luv’s Diapers on their 1st Kid/2nd Kid Campaign since last Fall! I introduced you to their hilarious videos where they highlight some of the funny differences in parenting styles between a first time parent and then how those parenting styles have changed after having a second child. I shared some of my own humorous differences like:

Joey (1st child) used to sit in his high chair during his designated snack time and enjoy some organic fruits or crackers.

Jake (2nd child) used to go digging for old Cheerios, Goldfish or lint in the sofa before/during/after breakfast.

Then, in January, I was given the reigns and took control of the Luv’s Twitter account for an entire week (are these people crazy or what?) to share even more of my own experiences with the hashtag #Luvs1Kid2Kid.

What came next? Well for me, it was a unitard, my favorite local children’s boutique (First & Little in Middletown, DE), and spreading the word on the street. Check out how I and other funny Luv’s Bloggers helped share the laughs with the Luv’s Videos:

Now, as the campaign is coming to a close, Luv’s wants to give one of my readers the gift of diapers – 6 months of free diapers to be exact (I know, that’s huge, right?)! One lucky reader, US Only, will win 24 coupons each for one jumbo pack of diapers (up to $9.99 value), aka one pack a week for six months!

Entering is so easy – leave me a comment below (just one entry per person) with a funny 1stKid/2ndKid difference that you’d love to see in a Luv’s Video! Need some inspiration, check out their short, funny commercials/videos here.

And want even more chances to win? These hilarious and totally lovely bloggers, who are also partnering with Luv’s, are giving away 6 month supplies of diapers too! Swing by and enter to win on their pages as well: Ann’s Rants, Mama Bird Diaries, Snarky Mommy, The Laughing Stork and Robin’s Chicks. Go for the chance of free diapers, but stay and poke around their pages for the laughs (you won’t be sorry you did)!

So what are you waiting for? Leave me a comment below with a 1st Kid/2nd Kid difference (and if you don’t have more than one, just comment with something you think you’ll do differently the next time around), visit my funny friends, and one lucky, random winner will be selected on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 11:59pm EST and announced the next day Winner will be contacted via email from me [email protected], so be sure to add this email to your address book.)

  1. I am still pregnant with my second child…So I am anticipating a summer full of “this is not like last time” kind of talk. But I shared my experiences here-> http://dramafreemama.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/the-second-time-around/ about how the pregnancies have been different thus far. I chalk it up to age, experience, and being too tired to think rationally! Enjoy! ;-)

  2. Oh my goodness…there are so many differences between the 1st & the 2nd especially due to age difference (8 years). Heck there’s even more from 2nd to 3rd and they’re only 19 months apart. I would have to say the one that quickly comes to mind is clothes…I had so many outfits and would dress my 1st in a different outfit every day. I think he had enough clothes to last him a month without repeating. With the 2nd I have about enough outfits for about a week to a week and a half and she will repeat the clothes every couple days. Heck, sometimes she wears the same clothes for a couple days. Since it’s winter and it has been so cold outside we don’t really go anywhere and she usually runs around in her underwear anyway. So the only time she has to put clothes on is to go out to pick my oldest up from the bus stop then she comes home and strips down again.

  3. 1st kid.) I was heart sick when ‘they’ said you cannot have anything in the crib at night (not even the bumbers around the edge :( ) i used to go running in every time i heard her head bump into the crip as she moved around at night and bumped her head

2nd kid.) I heard the bumps from the other side of the wall while i was sleeping, i would sit up wait for a cry and if i didnt hear it….go right back to sleep!! Zzzzzzzzz….Zzzzzz …..haha …

  4. My first pregnancy was all “no caffeine, no cold deli meat, no hot baths, watch what I eat, etc.” This time it’s more like “ahhhh…a little wont hurt:)” My excuse…I’m pregnant and have a 3 year old spider monkey (child) running around our new home that still needs work before the baby gets here in July! The funny thing is we bought a new house when I was pregnant with my first child too. In conclusion…it must be the spider monkey.

  5. With my oldest, his binky was immediately confiscated if it hit the ground, rug, table at a restaurant, etc. he was given a fresh, sterilized binky. With our 1 month old sixth child, I am not above giving him his 20 month old brother’s binky that I found at the bottom of the diaper bag.

  6. First child, how soon was too soon to go OUT of the house w her? Second child, no worries, out to dinner w her first week home.

THIRD child, stopped at WalMart to shop on our way home from the hospital.

  7. 1st kid before leaving for the day perfect outfit, matching shoes, cute hat, coordinating baby bag snap a picture walk out the door. 2nd kid before leaving for day baby diaper changed, got something coving all necessary body parts?,older sibling clothed (hopefully in something other than pajamas but hey if that’s what they want to wear…)diapers stuffed in my purse and snacks and bottle and out the door we go. Picture before we go. Yeah nobody’s got time for that!

  8. First baby had 25 “Baby’s first Christmas ornament” and the second…none. (Ok one, I had to go out and get it for her).

  9. I’ve only had one pregnancy, but two kids- twins. So I don’t know how that applies to the 1st kid/2nd kid situation, but I have definitely noticed that I’m a little more laid back than most first-time moms! Here’s my idea: First Kid screams non-stop and mother tries to soothe with songs, books, toys, etc. while avoiding using a pacifier. Second kid gets handed the pacifier immediately. :)

  10. Autumn (First Baby) – I bought EVERYTHING brand new, furniture, clothes, toys, everything! I would not accept hand-me-downs of any kind.

Landon (Second Baby) – He is lucky that he has a boy cousin to have things passed down to because I just might dress him in his older sister’s clothes. Most of the toys that he played with as an infant were his sister’s or bought at a consignment sale.

I learned by the second baby that kids just outgrown everything way too quickly to think it all needs to be brand new!

  11. 1st kid: buying the most adorable outfits, disregarding comfort and dignity (yes; I dressed my firstborn son in a turkey costume on his first thanksgiving)

2nd kid: hand me downs (so what if your son is wearing pink footie pj’s? They’re just going to get spit up on/diaper blowout)

  12. First pregnancy= no anything, healthy, organic, local, second pregnancy=coffee and white carbs, preferably deep fried.

  13. First kid gets brand new everything, especially clothes that fit. Second kid gets hand me downs which are outgrown at least a month never the seasons change, but you think “Oh, he/she can squeeze onto them for one more month, no big deal.”

  14. With my first, I have pictures of everyone who held him in the hospital…with the second, the only pics I have of anyone holding her are her big brothers. And he had newborn pics made at 5 days…she’s almost 4 weeks and hasn’t had any made.

  15. 1st kid-changed clothes as soon as a stain hit his shirt.

2nd kid-changed clothes only if her shirt was completely soiled.

  16. 1st Child: Worry about everything they eat as they transition to solid foods: Did they eat enough? Are they getting enough vitamins? Did we try new foods for 3 to 5 days before adding in something new? Trying not to expose them to sweets and practically begging them to eat healthy.

2nd Child: Don’t want fruit and veggies? Just hand over the goldfish crackers!

  17. First boy child – Carried ALL the essential, extra baby needs (books, toys, extra snacks/juice, 10 extra diapers, 2 changes of clothes, etc) in a really big diaper bag. Second girl child – I think there’s a diaper in the car somewhere, here’s a my keys to keep you busy, and I guess she can have the Nutri-grain bar at the bottom of my purse!

  18. Since everyone already knows I ended up giving up and letting my kid naps on the floor, I’ll pick something novel. My first kid got all home made baby food – organic, of course. Second one went straight for the saltines – I didn’t even get a chance to whip out the baby food. From that minute on, he basically fed himself. It’s like I only ever did baby food once. Oops!

  19. First kid: 30 minutes early to every doctor’s appointment

Second kid: Barely get to the doctor 10 minutes after appointment times

3rd kid – totally forget about DR appointments

  20. First kid- bottles meticulously measured, tracked, warmed, with the organic milk/ formula

2nd kid- gets half & half diluted with water when you there’s no milk around.

  21. With the 1st I followed every rule on what foods they should eat when.

2nd kid, I was just happy if she sate.

  22. ‎1st baby: At the first sign of distress – a whimper, a frown-you pick up the baby. 2nd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.

  23. Trinitty (1st child)- Was the cleanest child ever n hated getting dirty.

Tiana (2nd child)-I swear can get dirty just looking at messy food or dirt lol

Tinsley (3rd child)- Funny enough is a happy mixture of both my other girls, she doesn’t care if she gets messy/dirty but doesn’t want to stay that way for long lol

  24. LABOR! We know the signs the second time around, right? Or how about leaving them with a babysitter for the first (second, third, fourth) time? I LUV these ads by the way.

  25. First kid: OMG he is crying! Something must be wrong! Should we take him to the doctor?? Definitely pick him up!! Second kid: We are definitely letting this one cry b/c the first one now cries at EVERYTHING still expecting to be picked up. But it makes me so sad to hear her cry….Third kid: Oh, was that the baby? I thought it was the puppy. He will be fine.

  26. My first daughter had all the cutest clothes, several wardrobe changes a day (for my own entertainment) and I would spend hours cleaning, folding, and hanging up those sweet outfits.

My second daughter is mostly naked. When we have to leave the house, she wears whatever she wants as long as it doesn’t smell too awful. I do wash her clothes but then they get dumped on her bedroom floor and rarely see a hanger.

God help this baby when he’s born. He’ll be lucky to leave the house in clothes that aren’t pink.

  27. Aldon (1st child): has 3 photo albums plus 4 custom photo books documenting every ultrasound and milestone, plus photos of him framed all over the house.

Liam (second child): has an ultrasound photo around here somewhere, I think….

    ;)

  28. 1st kid: changed diaper each time she did anything in it.

2nd kid: It isn’t leaking or has poop in it? He’ll be ok for a little while longer.

  29. My daughter always wore proper pjs to bed. When I dress my son for bed I like to decide what I want him to wear the next day and put him in that. Then I don’t have to dress him in the morning! Change his diaper and he’s ready to go!! :)

  30. First kid: Wakes up… makes a squeak and I’m right in there.

Second and Third kids (Twins): No screaming, no loud thuds… They can wait 5 more minutes.

  31. I’m actually pregnant with number 4 and there are so many things I’ve done different since my first. With my first I insisted on only buying name brand clothes and such Once the 2nd came along I was bargain shopping, getting clothes from consignment shops and more. I bought some of those gadgety things like a wipe warmer and such. Once I got to the 2nd I realized it was more trouble than it was worth

  32. I tell everybody…1st kid drops his binky and you sterilize and sanitize before you give it back to him. 2nd kid drops binky and you pop it in your mouth before you give it back to him. By the time the 3rd one rolls around, you take the binky out of the dogs mouth and give it back to him. Germs? What germs?

  33. 1st kid: Cleaned her hands and face regularly, made sure her hair was always done and that she had super cute clothes on before we ever set foot outside.

2nd kid: As long as he has pants on, we’re good.

By the way, I have 5 kids, don’t even ask what I let them get away with now. My standards are so low that km just glad if we can all get in the Surburan without any tears.

  34. 1st kid: if he dropped his pacifier I would find a place to wash with soap and hot water before giving it back.

2nd kid: if she dropped her pacifier I would lick my fingers rub the pacifier off and hand it back.

3rd kid: just give the darn thing back. A little dirt won’t kill her.

    • So true!!! My friend was over last week (first time mom of a 2 month old) and my 3rd kid dropped her paci on the floor. My friend took it away from my daughter and said, “Oh, no, no. That’s yucky now.” I just laughed and laughed.

  35. My daughter (kid #1) was born with Congenital Heart Desease, had 2 open heart surgeries as a baby, but was still the happiest, laid back kid EVER. My son, born heart healthly, was by far the more difficult infant because he had colic and would scream, inconsolably, for hours every evening!

  36. First kid: If he touched dirt I washed his hands.

Second kid: Dug in the dirt more times than I can count.

  37. First kid: held him every second

Second kid: found out what a swing and a playpen were for!

  38. OK I am now pregnant with my fourth baby and each of my first three (all boys) were completely different from each other. I remember when my first was about 8 months old he had his first AWFUL diaper(up his clothes, in his hair, etc). I am embarrassed to say that I called my mom who lives about 15 minutes away to come and change him. With my second son, and he had his first really nasty diaper, I gagged like crazy, but I changed it. With my third little boy, I handled it like a pro. I am anxious to see how I do with this baby because it’s been almost 6 years since I had a baby in diapers,so I am a little out of practice.

  39. Duncan (1rst child) was very active and on the go. Liam (second child) is a coach potato and loves to talk.

  40. 1st kid: NO ONE can hold him or take him overnight. Hes MINE.

2nd & 3rd kid: SOMEONE TAKE HER NOW; possibly for a few days!!

  41. 1st kid: rocked to sleep every single nap and bedtime.

2nd: learned to fall asleep on his own while still in the hospital.

  42. 1st kid: rocked to sleep every single nap and bedtime

2nd kid: learned to asleep by himself while still in hospital!

  43. 1st kid: Used a baby monitor until the age of 2.

2nd kid: used static-y second hand baby monitor until the age of 1.

3rd kid: “Where is that damn baby monitor?! Aw, screw it. If it’s serious, she’ll be yelling loud enough to hear.”

  44. 1st kid: Always had perfectly planned outfits right down to his socks, was immediately changed into a new matching outfit that I spent 30 minutes picking out, if any little spill got on the first.

2nd child: wears whatever, hardly has pants on, or socks. And who cares if we go out and his clothes are a little dirty!

Its all about letting them have fun, and getting messy is part of that.

  45. The first one (boy – 6 years) holds back a minute and watches. The second one (boy – 4 years) will dive in with both feet. The third one (girl -3) throws herself all-in feet and hands. The fourth one (boy – only 13 months) watches and laughs at the other three.

  46. I went from 1 to 3 kids because I had twins. So I went from taking my 1st kid everywhere with me to NEVER leaving my house. :) then I had a 4th cause once you have 3 what’s one more.

  47. Commenting on behalf of victoria elizalde because she’s getting a weird error message:

First child-All new clothes, crib, swing,& I had to buy infant SHOES lol

Second child- shop at baby resale shops or use hand me downs. Didnt buy newborn shoes! Pointless & expensive! Its not like they can walk & they always end up kicking one off & you lose it. Socks work just fine :)

    ……

    Also

Took big clunky stroller in/out every stop. What a hassle!

Now I just grab baby out of carseat & tuck him in my baby wrap. :)

  48. We gave up on cutesie cute and went straight for comfort! No fussy outfits, no more worrying about bodily fluids inevitably ending up on the clothes. Much simpler!

  49. I have a 6 year old little girl and a 5 month old little boy. The first time my daughter was “helping” me change the baby, he peed all over both of us. My daughter remarks “I wish I could do that.” Never in all the time my daughter was in diapers did she ever pee on me. My son has done it at least a half dozen times.

  50. 1st child…perfect, no problems, all around great kid, took everywhere to see everyone & show him off. 2nd baby, diagnosed with several birth defects in utero, born with even more than originally diagnosed with…in NICU at OSF in Peoria, IL, 1st child cannot even see new baby brother, will be here for a very long time until surgeries are complete, having to go back & forth to spend time with both children & getting not enough with either…praying every minute for a positive outcome & thankfulness as to each minute spent with each child.

  51. The one thing I will do different with this baby: BE NOISY! My 1st kiddo will wake up if I even walk to the fridge!

  52. First Daughter- Always had on cute clothes with matching bows. Second Daughter- She’s lucky if her jammies are free of spit-up, lol @ under 2 is no joke :)

  53. 1st Girl child: Take photos galore! You are dragging her to any opportunity to sit/lay her down for photo shoots at Sears or wherever!

2nd Girl child: You may have a few photos a month and then when you start looking back at them, you may think it’s the 2nd child but really, it’s the 1st child.

  54. When our oldest daughter fell, my husband would run over pick her up and ask if she was okay. Our second daughter, the response time was a little slower but he would still ask her how she was. By the time our son came along, he would just say “There is no blood, your okay.”

  55. Sara (1st) – Almost always changed her diaper on the changing table with all the bells and whistles!

Samantha (2nd) – Changed her diaper where ever we happen to be..couch, bed, floor. If she was lucky she got a blanket under her bum!!

  56. I’m pregnant with my second now and I’m already planning on leaving them to go to a wedding in mexico. With my daughter I wouldn’t even think about it til she was almosy 2 years old.

  57. I’m pregnant with my first…due in 4 weeks…and my eye doctor actually explained the difference to me between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd children. If your 1st swallows a quarter, you rush to the emergency room demanding xrays and freaking out. If your second swallows a quarter, you monitor the situation to see if it passes. When your 3rd swallows a quarter, you deduct it from their allowance. :)

  58. 1st kid: mom dresses nice to go out in public, 2nd kid: mom wears cleanest sweats to go out in public.

  59. 1st kid – parents argue over who the kid looks most like/ Mom or Dad. 2nd kid – parents claim child is related to Grandparents. 3rd kid – no one claims the kid; they all think he’s a stray they adopted!

  60. I noticed with my first kid:

Big first birthday party, fancy decorations, stressed out, homemade big fancy cake, goodie bags for other children guests…

    Second kid:

His most preferred meal at home and a small homemade six inch round cake..

  61. Never let my first child even glimpse at a TV. We read books, sang, played, etc.

Unfortunately, my second child watches way more TV as a baby.

  62. 1st Kid: When a toy or sippy cup fell on the floor in the grocery store I would give my little guy a fresh one from the extras I’d always brought when we went out. The offending item was tied up in a plastic bag and banished to an empty outside pocket of the diaper bag reserved for ‘contaminated’ items. Then I would use hand sanitizer to avoid transferring those awful floor germs to my little one, just in case I had picked them up through contact with the now-filthy toy or cup.

2nd Kid: I bought the pacifier cleaning wipes, and gave the toy/cup that kissed the floor a quick wipe down (with one hand, while holding a thrashing toddler with the other) before returning said toy/cup to my little one strapped into the shopping cart.

3rd Kid: Now when the cup hits the floor I pick it up and usually give it right back to my youngest, with my older two children unwittingly providing cover for the heinous deed as they loudly argue over whether we’re getting the green grapes or the red ones. If someone is watching, I give it a courtesy swipe against my pant leg before returning it to the child/contortionist trying to escape the shopping cart buckle.

  63. First kid was always dressed perfectly. By the time the third kid came the oldest was wearing a Spider-Man costume and cowboy boots, the middle one was still in his pajamas, and the baby had a diaper and a tshirt on.

  64. I have hundreds, if not thousands of pictures of my first kid from birth to when he started school; my second kid, I have his hospital picture, maybe a doze or so snapshots, then his yearly school pictures

  65. First kid=devil child (I say that because I love him)

Second child=little angel (Probably because he knows he’s not going to get much attention with his older brother around, so sad, but true)

I’d say the only thing I’ve done differently with the two is that I realized a baby isn’t going to remember his first Christmas or birthday and doesn’t need a huge production. I guess I came into motherhood pretty laid back to begin with! My third is on the way, (another boy), I need dipes! :]

  66. 1st kid: always in a cute outfit/clean clothes/pretty bows, etc. 2nd kid: wears same pair of jammies for two days straight since they look “clean enough.” ;) 1st kid: I made my own baby food and froze in individual portions. 2nd kid: Has never had a puree…just eats regular food straight from the table!

  67. Ist Kid: Tried to keep her a baby as long as possible. Never really thought about how it would affect her down the road. Now I have a 10 year old who cannot do anything for herself.

2nd Kid: It was hard, but I swore this one would be more independent. He’s 2, and he throws away his empty fruit snack pack as soon as he’s done. He puts his cup in the sink when it’s empty. In fact, one time he opened the dishwasher and put his dirty cup in there himself! He climbs up in his own car seat. I hand him a bag when we bring home groceries. He’s more like my older child!

  68. 1st Kid carried like fine delicate china through a minefield.

2nd Kid carried (safely) in one arm like a football while carrying diaper bag, purse, etc dodging toys, obstacles, etc like a Navy Seal on the O course.

  69. 1st kid: Do NOT let him get dirty! He can play INSIDE on the clean floor, keep him OUT of the dirt!!

    2nd kid: Go make mudpies!

  70. First Kid Pregnancy: Must eat only very healthy foods no hormones or antibiotic meat.

Second kid pregnancy: Pass the ice cream and the french fries

  71. When my first child dropped her pacifier on the floor, it got boiled before she could have it back.

When daughter two dropped her pacifier, I’d run it under some water in the closest sink and return it.

When child three dropped the pacifier, I’d blow the obvious crud off of it and plop it back in her mouth. :)

  72. When my oldest was about a year old he got his arm stuck in a shopping cart at target trying to reach thru the seat to grab some cheetos out of the back of the cart. I was frantic and screaming like a maniac for someone to help me because I couldn’t get it out (tears and all). There was a croud surrounding my shopping cart, finally a man suggested grabbing some lotion and pouring it over him and his arm slid right out.

Second child – We were in Walmart shopping and some lady in line behind me said Mam your son is crying because his arm is stuck in the shopping cart. Sure enough it happened again with a different kid. Very calmly I yell to my husband – grab some lotion this one has done it too!

  73. 1st child – ahchoo – she must go directly to doc

2nd child – are you dying or a limb fall off ? No? Your fine

  74. First kid- had to lay next to her in bed until she fell asleep then sneak out of the room hoping she didn’t wake up.

Second kids (Twins!!) – Lay them each in their cribs, say good night, close door and they go to sleep themselves! So much easier!! :)

  75. With my first kid, I took pictures all the time, and mailed them off to the developer (this was 1975!) With my second child, not so much. I was cleaning out some old boxes and found two cameras with his baby pics still in them. (I did get them developed.) Yeah, bad mommy strikes again.

  76. My 1st & 2nd are only separated by two minutes. I had a girl and a boy on January 2, 2013. I don’t really have a funny story. Mine is more along the lines of tragic. These two gorgeous babies of mine were born a week later than scheduled. Their father, my husband, passed away on December 26,2012. I was scheduled to have a c-section that morning. Their father’s blood sugar dropped very low. It was so low that it stopped his heart. That was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives.

So, now I am a first time mom to twins. And unfortunately, I am also a single mom now, as I am also a widow.

    • My heart goes out to you. You will forever have two precious gifts that your husband left for you, and their love. Enjoy every minute of being a mother. You have a lot to look forward to.

  77. We are currently providing foster care to my 2 great nieces age 2 and age 1 – my own boys are now 19 and 16 yrs old – can’t even begin to tell you ALL the differences in our parenting now – but must say having children at my age (43) I am a lot more patient and calmer – and really don’t mind when they go out of the house looking a hot mess ! As long as they have on clothes, shoes, and coats… I’m good

  78. 1st Kid – called the doctor about a diaper rash, 2nd kid – looked at it and said, ehh, it is okay and slapped some ointment on, 4th kid – we don’t even own ointment this time.

  79. 1st Child ~ Nursery completely done and ready 1 month prior to birth

2nd child ~ Nursery still not done and the baby is 3 months old (still looks like a storage area)

  80. I’d like to see the difference in parent reaction to 1st kid / 2nd kid falling. First kid = total panic. Second kid = no blood, you’re ok!

  81. !st kid – always clean – wiping those hands and that face – no sticky on her – spot on the clothes, change em.

2nd kid – running around in diapers and t-shirt – t-shirt gets a spot – wait til pajama time and throw it in the laundry.

  82. First Kid: Cloth diapers. Grueling process of dumping poop in the toilet, special dirty diaper bin, stinky diapers that were forgotten for the day or I never got around to washing. The laundry started to pile up because the dirty cloth diapers were always in the wash.

Second Kid: I got a ton of diapers as presents because I ASKED FOR THEM. I’m all caught up on laundry because I don’t have poopy diapers to wash 3 x a day. – [email protected]

  83. First child had every toy she ever wanted and more. Second child enjoys playing with first child’s toys…and diaper wipes container, tissue box, etc…no need to toy shop!

  84. I don’t think my first son watched any TV until he was 2 years old. My second son, however, was watching Sesame Street in his bouncy seat from birth while I tried to sneak 10 min. alone in the bathroom

  85. 1st kid, everytime he cried I would run into his room and sometimes I would just stare at how precious it was when he was crying, but immediately pick him up and console him. 2nd kid, I think that he got sick of waiting for me to come in and console him. He usually gurgles by himself for an hour before I finally get him out of bed.

  86. 1st Child: Always nursed in the privacy of my bedroom.

2nd Child: Just whipped that puppy out anywhere!

  87. Love the videos! Especially the breastfeeding one! I know you asked us to compare 1 vs. 2, but I’m on #4. I can definitely say that I’m not as “prepared” as the first kidos. Baby is due in 2 months and I have only purchased a bassinet and a have been donated a car seat. At least she has can get home from the hospital, has a place to sleep and food to eat! LOL

  88. With the first child, I would never have in one million years put him on his belly to sleep. We had been scared into oblivion from the drs. He hated it. He never slept. I never slept. My husband never slept. We had our second child just sixteen months later and I would put her down on her back and the crying would start. And then suddenly she was asleep. I would poke my head in to check on this newborn, and she was on her stomach sound asleep. I would ask my husband how she ended up on her belly, and he would tell me she was smart and rolled over. My husband was going in and rolling her over onto her belly and she would just drift off to sleep. I know, breaks all sorts of rules, but beats the heck out of sleeping with your son in your arms all day long because he was awake all night.

  89. First kid falls, “It’s okay don’t cry! Do you have a boo boo?! Mommy loves you!” Kisses, kisses, hugs, hugs.

    Second kid falls, “You’re fine.”

  90. 1st kid (Angela) loved her strawberry shortcake pjs

2nd kid (Carl) Also love dthe strawberry shortcake pjs

    So glad I got pics!!

  91. With my first I felt like I was giving up a lot. I always said I didn’t want kids. While I loved her, she forced me to look at my life differently. With the second I’m able to just embrace what I have.

  92. first time mommom my daughter is 6 months due in june we are so excited and cant wait for our new arrival to come this is a great gift for a new mommy

  93. I only have 1 but next time I am not reading any damn books!

  94. 1st Kid – 90 minute sleep cycle, naps at 9 & 3 for 1.5 hours each IN the crib, 1 hour bedtime routine, bed at 7:30pm, sleeps thru the night at 10 weeks old.

2nd Kid – No sleep schedule to speak of, naps in car seat while picking up big sister from school, cosleeps or no-sleeps :)

  95. my first kid is shy and quiet my second is outgoing and busy busy. love them both

  96. Only one child here! But we will love to have a supply from luvs! We have been using them since she was born!

  97. First Kid I actually baby proofed a little bit. And almost every bump I worried if he was okay.

Second kid I figured they would live and learn and didn’t actually need any baby proofing. And as long as the bumps aren’t bleeding profusely and they are still conscious, I figure they are still good. Love my little demons.

  98. With my next one I am planning on giving him/her more tv, chocolate milk and less toys. :)

  99. I only have one now but we would like more and things will be different next time for sure! When my little one was a newborn I wouldn’t let anyone take him. This next one I know I will need some time to my self.

  100. I love Luv’s 1st/2nd child breastfeeding ad! Way to go Luv’s! I am only the mom of one, but my parenting style has changed in his 17 months. I am much more laid back than I anticipated- but, you have to do what works! This difference makes me sad, but for the first six months I took his picture every day (probably multiple times a day) and kept up with his baby book. Now, even with the technology of camera phones, I forget (or he’s dirty since wiping his face is a crime) and his book hasn’t been updated in months.

  101. Well since I’m pregnant with both my first and second child at the same time, I’m not going to have the “luxury” of deciding how I would do things differently the next time around. Basically, If I mess one up, I mess them both up. But, at least they won’t know the difference!
