Bed Time is Bonding Time
Another great article over on the Fresh Takes website was article that spoke to bedtime being bonding time. The author spoke how sometimes the day gets the better of you, but that no matter what she took 15 minutes at the end of the day to spend alone time with the kids.
Maybe I never thought about bedtime before as a tradition, and maybe more of a routine, but why can’t bedtime have traditions too? Who says traditions can’t be done every day? They aren’t always reserved for special occasions. In my house after the bathing and the brushing of teeth, my husband and I both take the time to sit in each of the kids rooms and read stories and talk about their day. Not only do I think my kids would have a hard time if we didn’t do it, but I think I’d miss it too.
