Maternally Speaking
By, Bonnie Lowell
Maternally Speaking I gave birth to four eggs (One Scrambled, Fried, Over Easy & Sunny Side Up) is 176 pages of lighthearted and humorous stories told by author Bonnie Lowell which celebrates modern motherhood. In this easy to read and even easier to relate to book, Bonnie shares experiences that had me chuckling to myself and often nodding in agreement.
Bonnie’s book might actually be more of a celebration of womanhood as she begins her book long before she had her four children. She talks frankly about marriage, kids, and being a woman. You’ll be laughing right along with her as she shares from puberty, to pregnancy, and into the roller coaster that is motherhood. Bonnie’s frank yet warm hearted stories remind me of Erma Bombeck but with more of a modern appeal.
If you’re like me, free time for reading isn’t in great supply, but after you collapse into your sofa after a long day (with or without a glass of wine) and Bonnie’s book, you’ll feel like you’re spending time with one of your best girlfriends. And even though being a woman, and a mother, is at times stressful and nerve racking, Bonnie will help remind you that laughter really is the best medicine- even after a long day with a toddler(s)! A great book for any Mom with a sense of humor!
