I recently had an opportunity to review a twin sized blue Zipit Bedding^TM set and I was really surprised at the results. The idea of the bedding, that attaches to a bed via a fitted sheet and easily zips up resulting in a made bed seems simple enough, but I wondered if it would really work. When my package arrived the first thing I noted was that the pattern of the Zipit Bedding^TM really is stylish and would have appeal over several age groups (and among parents as well). Younger kids, like my own, would likely love the colors and pattern, and yet it is stylish enough for a teenager’s bedding as well.

The first test for any product I review is the washing and drying, especially for something that will receive frequent cleaning. There was actually a note enclosed with washing instructions which I followed, and when completed the bedding felt softer and both size and color were still perfect with no fading or change to shape.

Originally, I was going to use this bedding in my six year old’s room, but my four year old son was so taken with the idea of the product that he asked to be the one testing it out for me. The fitted sheet was easy to put on, yet fit snug and has not slipped out of place. The zippered pillow case was also the right standard size, and personally, I love the zipper because my kid’s pillows, probably due to them throwing them around, always seem to slip out of other pillow cases.

The comforter was easy to zip to the fitted sheet, and once I got it started, my son was excited to “finishing making the bed” by himself.

My real surprise with this bedding came the day after I put it on my son’s bed, and every day since, when just after getting up, he makes his bed each and every day! I think I’ll be buying another set for my six year old, who has yet to make his bed without being asked, and I might as well start with my two year old as well…it doesn’t hurt to dream, right??

I only have one slight issue with the bedding, which hasn’t been too much of a problem, which is that the comforter is too warm for hot weather. I can see that the bedding would be great for most Mid-Atlantic weather, most likely Fall, Winter and Spring; however, we’ve already had quite a few hot days with warm nights, and if there were a flat sheet that attached as well, this set would be absolutely perfect. I actually just put one under the comforter, and my son uses it as needed.
